“It’s easy to feel trapped in your own life. Circumstances can sometimes feel as if they form a jail around you. But there’s almost nothing you can’t learn your way out of. If you don’t like who you are, you have the option of learning until you become someone else. Life is like a jail with an unlocked, heavy door. You’re free the minute you realize the door will open if you simply lean into it.” -Scott Adams
Change involves healthy risks and getting out of your comfort zone. I am here to collaborate with you and support you in facing obstacles and finding balance in your life. I am passionate about partnering with you in your journey to positive change in a way that empowers you and focuses on your strengths. I can provide a non-judgmental and empathetic counseling environment where we can both be open, willing, honest and committed to bettering ourselves. I am flexible in my counseling approaches and will work with you to determine the direction of your healing. I am genuine, curious and have a sense of humor. I strive to help you find ways to achieve greater fulfillment and peace in your life.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Xavier University in 2009 and completed my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at University of Cincinnati in 2011. I am a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and am working toward supervision credentials for both licenses. I am on the addictions team here at Compass Point, but I also have interests in trauma/sexual abuse counseling, grief counseling, mental health counseling, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ issues, couples counseling and family counseling and more! I utilize DBT informed counseling as well as many other approaches tailored to your specific needs.
I am also passionate about Animal Assisted Therapy which combines my love for helping people and dogs. If you are interested, my dog Scarlet can be included in sessions. She is a licensed therapy pet through Pet Partners and is a very affectionate 5 year old collie. Please let me know if you are interested, this is completely optional. I am looking forward to meeting you!
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” -William Faulkner
