Objective: This workshop will present information on the board process of investigation and give participants an opportunity to discuss issues and ethical dilemmas that Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists face every day. It is also an in-depth look at the code of Professional Conduct, what not to do, and the consequences licensees can face if they violate the rules that govern the profession.
Presenter: Tammy had been employed for 27 years as an Investigator with eh State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board. Before Tammy retired she was a National Certified Investigator and had training in Advanced Investigative Analysis, including behavioral analysis and investigative interviewing.Tammy was responsible for conducting investigations of complaints filled with the board regarding the practice of counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy. She also conducted presentations for ethics training to national associations, educational institutions and private agencies.
Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of the workshop, participants will:
1. Receive updated information regarding changes to the rules and ethical code that governs the practice of the professionals
2. Receive information regarding the role of the board and conducting investigation into alleged violations.
3. Review and discuss actual cases that resulted in formal discipline by the board.
