Lauren is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Cincinnati Christian University. Lauren has had experience working various counseling arenas including traditional outpatient, therapeutic boarding school, and partial hospitalization programs. These various backgrounds have led to rich diversity in adaptability and knowledge.
Lauren has been trained in EMDR treatment modality and has a passion for helping her clients adapt and overcome life traumas.
She also enjoys helping other with various presenting problems including Depression, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, PTSD, Life transitions, and stress management. Lauren is also experienced at working with children with various presenting problems including ADHD, Behavioral challenges, and school problems. Upon request, she is happy to integrate faith into sessions.
While Lauren can work with a variety of ages including children through adulthood, she specializes in working with ages 7-young adults. Lauren loves to be active in sessions using many different experiential approaches to assist in the process of emotion exploration, development of healthier coping skills, and sustained engagement in therapy.
Lauren comes from a strength-based approach, believing each individual, no matter what the circumstance and current struggles, has unique gifts and purpose in this world. She also believes that deep level change comes from forming healthy and authentic relationships. Therefore, she starts the therapy process by coming alongside her clients and working to build trust with compassionate listening without judgement, in order to find out what goals are important for each particular client and collaboratively developing a plan to reach those goals.
