I am a licensed Social Worker who has a Masters of Social Work from The Ohio State University. I have also earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Bachelors of Social Work from The Ohio State University. In addition, I have a CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification.
I have been serving the Columbus area for the last year and a half as an emergency department, Licensed Social Worker at the Ohio State East Hospital. My main areas of responsibility include psychosocial assessments, brief mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, health education and provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies. In addition, I complete assessments of neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence. My approach when dealing with my patients/clients is build a strong rapport that includes respect for each other. My goal is to create an environment that allows the client to feel safe and secure in our sessions. Once we have that foundation, and have an understanding of your current situation, we can work together to determine and utilize various therapeutic interventions that would work best with your situation. Some of the interventions may include one or more of psychosocial assessments, brief mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and other mindfulness-based strategies, just to name a few. I believe that it is a partnership with me, the therapist, and you, the client to work our way to help you reach the success you desire.
