Frank Wamsley MSW, LSW
Frank Wamsley, MSW, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker who received his Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Frank moved to Cincinnati in 2018 and joined Compass Point Counseling Services in 2020.
Frank has experience providing individual therapy to children and adolescents from a variety of backgrounds. He primarily focuses on working with youth who have experienced trauma, challenging family circumstances (i.e. divorce, blended families, foster care, etc.) school-related issues, and social or emotional difficulties. He also has an interest in supporting clients with developmental disabilities and those who would like to deepen their faith and/or spirituality. Frank enjoys working with young people because children and teenagers have so much untapped potential in their identity development and search for purpose in life. To be a part of their journey is truly a privilege.
When it comes to his therapy style, Frank describes himself as a humanist. He believes that meaningful conversation and fun activities are the most helpful for finding out what makes someone their best self. No gimmicks or fancy techniques needed. Frank simply listens with compassion and guides his clients as they learn from their pasts, find more happiness in the present, and carve out brighter futures for themselves. Frank is very pro-family and strives to strengthen the support systems in his clients’ lives through intentional collaboration with parents and other caregivers. His reliance on evidenced-based practice and ongoing feedback ensures that clients and their loved ones get the most out of therapy. Frank is excited to be a part of the Compass Point team and serve the mental health needs of children and families throughout the Greater Cincinnati area!
