Cynthia Phillips

Cynthia Phillips MA, LPCC-S is a supervising counselor and a founder of Compass Point. She has a wealth of experience with children, adolescents and adults in a wide variety of settings. Her work has taken her to the streets, homes, schools, courts, church basements, and community centers of some of Cincinnati's most desperately troubled neighborhoods. She has designed and facilitated Prevention and Education Programs, and Support and Treatment Groups, as well as Corporate and Professional Trainings on such topics as: "Children in Divorce Situations", "Support for Non-Offending Parents of Victims of Sexual Abuse", "In School Support for Adolescents at risk for Suicide", "Caring for Aging Parents", and "Psychological Readiness in Self Defense."
In all of her clinical work Cynthia looks for the strengths of the individual so they can be used for personal change and growth.
Charles Roberts
Charles Roberts MA, LPCC is a Professional Clinical Counselor and a founder of Compass Point Counseling Services. He obtained his Master's degree from the University of Cincinnati and his Bachelors' degree from Walbash College. Charles works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, family, couples and group therapy. His eclectic approach to therapy offers his clients the opportunity to explore all aspects of their lives to develop a plan. He helps clients to focus on specific issues, meet their goals and change unwanted behavior in order to bring about peace of mind and happiness. Charles is currently completing his doctoral studies in Counselor Education at the University of Cincinnati with areas of specialization in chronic psychiatric disorders and adolescent substance abuse. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association and the National Board for Certified Counselors. Charles has worked locally with children and adolescents in an inpatient acute care behavioral health hospital, and a residential psychiatric hospital. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati. Charles presented his research to colleagues at the national conference for the National Board of Certified Counselors in the summer of 2008.
Pedro Adams

Pedro Adams MSW, LISW is a psychotherapist who obtained his Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work at The Ohio State University. After obtaining his Masters Degree, he obtained a certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling after two years of training. This is his second career, having first taught college with a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Louvain in Belgium. After retiring from the Court Psychiatric Center, where he was involved in forensic, diagnostic and treatment activity, he continued part time counseling at Family Service until joining Compass Point. Pedro has experience in group counseling. He mostly works with individuals, couples, and families.
Dustin Faulkner

Dustin Faulkner MA, LPCC is a professional clinical counselor who obtained his Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and his Bachelors' degree in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. Dustin is currently finishing his doctoral study in Counselor Education at the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of a number of organizations including the American Counseling Association, Ohio Counseling Association, the Center for Ecological Counseling, and the Greater Cincinnati Counseling Association (for which he is currently serving as the President- Elect). He has worked in a number of clinical settings including community mental health centers and schools. Dustin has been very active in the organizations and clinical settings he has had the opportunity to be a part of. In addition, he has given a number of presentations on topics ranging from children's rights in the counseling settings to ecological counseling and the treatment of sexual offender populations. Dustin's areas of clinical interest include ecological counseling practice and technique with all populations, criminal and sexual offender populations, geriatric populations, and at risk youth.
Dustin believes that effective treatment needs to be tailored to the individual and that treatment needs to not only address the individual but also the environmental factors that are effecting the individual as well. Dustin practices with a very holistic ecologically focused orientation that looks at the entire individual in an effort to remove the barriers and resolve the issues that are preventing that individual's success and happiness.
Cynthia Reinhart
Cynthia Reinhart MA, LPCC-S has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, and has been in private practice since 1998. She works with adults, adolescents and children age 5 years and up, utilizing individual, couple, family, and play therapy. She has experience working in a variety of areas, including: depression; anxiety; relationship problems; trauma and abuse, including sexual abuse; ADHD; behavior problems; anger management; and stress management. She takes an eclectic approach to therapy, believing it is best to tailor treatment to the specific issue and individual involved.
Sherri Lockwood
Sherri Lockwood, MSSA, LISW, obtained her Master's in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She took additional training and received a Certificate at the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy. Her approach to therapy is broad and eclectic, tailored to the client's needs. She has worked with adults on various issues, including: depression, anxiety, relationships, anger management, and substance abuse. She also has extensive experience in providing counseling in Employee Assistance Programs. She is interested in how the person is functioning in his/her environment and what they would like to see changed. She sees her job as helping people to recognize their strengths and use them to accomplish their own goals.
Lisa Starr
Lisa Starr, MA, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals and families overcome difficult or traumatic events such as divorce, death, sexual or physical abuse, or chronic illness. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, couples, family and group therapy. She has had specific training in marriage and family therapy, human sexuality, grief and trauma. She has experience working with a variety of issues, including: abuse, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, spirituality, relationship problems, personality disorders, and grief. Lisa maintains an open-minded approach and holistic perspective drawing upon client strengths and the value of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate change and growth. Lisa hates having her picture taken and wants you to know she is older than she looks.
Diane Zieger
Diane Zieger, M.Ed., LPCC, is an alumni of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master's of Education in Agency and Community Counseling, and Post Master's in Clinical Counseling, Diane is currently fulfilling requirements for the Xavier MBA Program. She has worked in private practice for ten years, specializing in populations with severe mental disorders. She has a unique gift as a writer, which she has used to assist many mentally disabled persons receive their social security disabilities benefits. Diane took special training in rational emotive behavioral therapy at Xavier University. She is also specially trained as a certified divorce mediator in the state of Ohio and a certified DUI assessor in the state of Kentucky. Diane is licensed as a counselor in both Ohio and Kentucky.
Tracy Mert
Tracy Mert MA, LPCC-S is a supervising counselor who obtained her Master's degree in Community Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She studied Psychology and Sociology as an undergraduate student, obtaining her BS from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Tracy was initiated in the Phi Eta Sigma Natinoal Honor Society in 1998, has a lifetime membership with Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology since 2002, has been in the National Scholars Honor Society since 2006, and is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International. Tracy is also a member of the American Counseling Association.
Tracy has conducted trainings on parenting, mood disorders, and differential diagnosis. She has also led parenting groups, self-esteem groups, and psycho-educational groups on topics such as: peer pressure, relationships, teen pregnancy, and substance abuse. Her work primarily has involved utilizing cognitive bahavior therapy with children and adolescents within the school setting. She has experience with working with clients in the areas of: anger-management, depression, anxiety, bahavior problems, stress-management, sexual abuse, and trauma. She also is proficient in family therapy.
Tracy has worked on an intensive level with those who suffer with severe mental health issues, dual diagnosis, and developmental disabilities, working in various clinical settings including: the office, community, schools, and courts. She believes in meeting the client where s/he is, developing a treatment plan with goals that are specific and unique to that individual's needs, strengths, and culture. She has a passion for learning , teaching, and helping others achieve their goals through an eclectic approach to treatment utilizing: language, art, movement, and play in her work.
Linda Fabe
Linda Fabe, M.Ed., LPC is a Liscensed Professional Counselor working with adults, couples, adolescents, and families. Linda is skilled in helping clients: heal from all types of abuse, loss, betrayal; strengthen communication, marriage and relationships; build greater self-confidence and self-love/esteem; find acceptance and forgiveness; address career and life transitions such as divorce or a new marriage; heal job burnout and relieve stress; address challenging problems; discover new possibilities.
Clients may be experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief or simply want more from Life. Linda has 10 years of experience in private practice with degrees and training from the University of Cincinnati and the Gestault Institute of Cleveland.
Linda's style is practical and results-oriented. She takes a holistic perspective, helping you to better know your strengths, what is working well, and what is possible. She draws from several key therapy modalities, working in partnership with you to make the changes you want. All of us have times of challenge. These can be precious opportunities for learning and growth.
Louis Alfieri
Louis Alfieri, MSW, LISW-S is a Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years experience in the mental health field. After earning his Master's Degree at the University of Cincinnati, Lou completed 2 years post-graduate training at the Family Therapy Center and obtained certification in Solution Focused Brief Therapy after 1 year of study at Ohio State University.
Lou has extensive experience in working with people from all walks of life. He is a skilled family therapist who focuses on affirming and supporting parents in their roles with their children as well as challenging and encouraging family members to further growth and development. Lou helps couples resolve conflict in order to begin the healing process.
He enjoys helping people become aware of their own strengths and works to help them use their personal resources in resolving problems. Lou is adept at providing a compassionate response to people in emotional crisis. He uses a strength-based approach in helping people use their personal resources in getting their lives back on track.
Sherry Grooms
Sherry Grooms, LPCC-S, LCDC III is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor- Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III. An alumnus of University of Cincinnati, Sherry graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Cincinnati, with a Bachelor's Degree in Addictions Studies and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is a member of several professional organizations including Chi Sigma Iota Professional Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, American Counseling Association, Association for Creativity in Counseling and International Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors.
Addressing severe mental illness as well as substance related issues, Sherry has worked with all ages of individuals, families and groups in a variety of environments including foster homes, private and community agencies, hospitals, residential care, intensive outpatient facilities and with those referred through the court system. She has provided training for professional clinical staff, graduate students and parenting groups covering topics such as Children’s Attachment Issues, Adolescent Development, Diagnostic Assessment, Chemical Dependency topics and Eating Disorders. Prior to beginning her career as a counselor, Sherry worked almost 20 years in the manufacturing business, and provided training on other topics in that setting.
Sherry has a unique ability for finding common ground with her clients, coming along beside them in an accepting and encouraging manner. She loves learning and is in an ongoing process for earning certifications in Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy.
Jennifer Martin
Jennifer Martin MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults, providing individual, group, and couples counseling. Her experience with adolescents can be attributed to her time as an athletic coach for high school students, a camp counselor for disadvantaged youth, a family service coordinator for a mental health agency, and an in-school therapist. Jennifer is skilled in helping clients with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief, defiant behavior, stress and anger management, communication difficulties, marriage and relationship issues, a lack of self-esteem, and the overall adjustment to new life circumstances.
Jennifer also has a great desire in working with those struggling to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Due to life happenings, many of us turn to food for safety and comfort. However, the increasing weight gain tends to do more harm than good, creating additional cause for concern. Jennifer desires to help those in need get to the root of their weight struggles and learn new successful coping strategies for past/present/future life events, and to have a healthy relationship with food.
She is extremely passionate about building a foundation for change, which thrives from having a close, therapeutic relationship with her clients. She desires to help each of them reach a place of satisfaction within themselves and their lives. Life is not always easy or fair, and she believes that everyone could benefit from having someone to talk to.
Kim Britton
Kim Britton has fifteen years of experience working with children and their parents dealing with emotional and behavioral issues. She is currently a mental health counseling intern. Kim is skilled in the areas of anger management, grief, self-esteem, bullying, anxiety, depression, social skills, and coping with divorce.
Kim received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and is working towards completing her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist, working with children and their families to develop strategies to promote and maintain positive mental health. Kim has experience working with children and adults, individually and in groups.
